FAS2020 Dual Controller – Automatic Takeover on Failure

This is from netapp forum, i’m copy paste this for remember … thanks to JP.michael and netengineers..

NetApp1>options cf.takeover.on_network_interface_failure on

NetApp1>ifconfig NetApp1 nfo partner NetApp2

NetApp2>options cf.takeover.on_network_interface_failure on

NetApp2>ifconfig NetApp2 nfo partner NetApp1

Then, edit rc file on both controller (share your vol0 in NFS or CIFS) :

On NetApp1 :

ifconfig NetApp1 nfo `hostname`-NetApp1 netmask 255.255.255.0 mtusize 1500 trusted -wins partner NetApp2 up

On NetApp2 :

ifconfig NetApp2 nfo `hostname`-NetApp2 netmask 255.255.255.0 mtusize 1500 trusted -wins partner NetApp1 up

Then when both cables are unplugged, a takeover will happen in about 15 sec
